Saving Private Ryan was a compelling and powerful experience. The journey of soldiers,
who are tasked with traveling across a German occupied France in attempt to save one man, one
single soldier named Private Ryan. Who has lost his three other brothers within the first days of
the assault on France. The story pulls on all the right strings and sets the right tone, without being
too much of an action flick and really showing the true hardships of war. The right tone I guess
would be the emotions that goes along with the movie, the movie brings all the excitement of
war without being over the top with explosions such as a Michael Bay film.
The opening sequence on the beach of Omaha really sets this movie off in quite possibly
one of the most realistic battle portrayals in all of movies. From the soldiers trip to the beach,
from as soon as the hatch is released and the German machine gun fire rips and shreds through
the flesh of the American troops. This battle perfectly shows what the real battle would have
