Shutter Island:
Shutter Island is a thriller movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio who plays an intelligent
U.S. Marshal named Teddy Daniels. Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) is Daniels’ new partner, and
together they venture to Ashecliffe Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island which is
located in Boston Harbor. While on Shutter Island, Daniels and Aule investigate the mysterious
disappearance of the psychotic patient, Rachel Solando, who was incarcerated on the island for
drowning her three children. While investigating Daniels begins to face psychological trips and
he becomes extremely skeptical of his surroundings. Daniels internally poses the questions of
who he should trust, what are the intentions of the island’s faculty, and why he is on the island in
