More Parents Going High-Tech to Track Kids
In “More Parents Going High-Tech to Track Kids,” Martha Irvine argues that
high-tech methods are used by parents to track children from where they are and how far
they are driving to what they buy and eat, and if they attend classes or not. Irvine explains
that parents usually get the details of tracking their children by a small device that
transmits location data, and then delivers it to parents. She mentions that these tracking
companies are growing intensively around the world. She notices that technology makes
some people to feel secure, but some people think that provides overprotection. She
notices that some parents mention that being alive is more important than children’s
privacy. In my opinion, tracking children is a bad idea because it invades their privacy
and prevents them from learning from their mistakes.
