The city of Cordova has a significant historical and present day influence in
Spain, and on a bigger scale Europe. In the 1886 publication of the story The Moors in
Spain by Stanley Lane-Poole, the city is showcased as a peak of the Muslim rise of power
between 711 and 1492. After reading this book it is clear that the ideology of Europe
being the center of historical events during the worlds early centuries is inaccurate.
During the time Cordova was thriving under the Great Khalif, there were numerous
advancements for man kind which help support the argument of African influence in
Europe.
