“Having money’s not everything not having it is”~Kanye West. I grew up with a very
high standard about money. I would ask my mother for something and she would
reply, “You have money?” Money is needed for some of the most basic things in life,
though a couple thousand more can be the difference between living in the projects
versus a condo. People think that getting money is the most important thing to
happiness, but research shows that giving money and other factors contribute more to
happiness.
Money is considered very important in society. It is needed for most things in
everyday life. Money is driven by desire, no matter your economic status the rich and
poor both strive for it. The United States is the most unequal when it comes to
economics in the world. 75.4% of wealth in the United States is owned by the richest
10% leaving while the other 24.6% to the other 90% of the people (huffingtonpost).
This makes it extremely hard for the average American to become wealthy. In these
times, money is used for just about everything such as food, clothing and your living
arrangements. Something that is so desperately needed for basic survival should be
more evenly distributed. Although there are programs provided for those needs such as
Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT). The use of digital information and
telecommunications technologies allows the government to distribute benefits to
eligible constituents. EBT is important because it allows people of low income another
way to get food. Money is a very important factor in life it is used to provide for
everything both needs and wants and most people don’t have enough of it.
