Volunteering is necessary because it allows people to help someone without expecting
anything in return. There are many positive effects of volunteering such as helping people gain
their confidence, helping people in need, help people meet new people. Volunteering is not just
about helping others, but it is also a way to learn something new in life
Volunteering helps people increase their self-confidence. Volunteer work can also provide
people with a sense of advantage and purpose to better understand their life and goals. Segal and
Robinson state that “The social contact aspect of helping and working with others can have a
profound effect on your overall psychological well-being. Nothing relieves stress better than a
meaningful connection to another person.” (Segal and Robinson). There are many people who
are scared to go talk to someone and that gives them anxiety and stress. Being alone without
friends can be tough. And volunteering can help them connect with people. It can also help them
find confidence and self-awareness. Volunteering can help people in any way, one way is to learn
through work. Volunteering is not just about people helping those in need but at the same time
learning something new from others. An article from United Way Worldwide says that

excellent way to gain new skills and knowledge of new things in the right possible setting. There
are many times people can get confused about what they want to do. Volunteering is one way
they can get the experience needed and learn skills. This is an opportunity to both confirm their
wants or, to realize if they want to pursue the field or not. Volunteering can learn how to develop
new abilities, gain experience. Take on a challenging task. People can push themselves to try
new things, accomplish personal goals, prepare using actual skills, and find hidden talents by
volunteering.
Several volunteers advise that having a stronger sense of purpose as a result of their
study. It’s simple to understand why, returning back to the community, doing something helpful,
and acquiring new skills are all examples of how they might spend their time. Caring for others
