Reaction Paper in Modern Math
“Man is the measure of all things” a quotation from the second video
entitled A Fibonacci’s Fractal which is said by one of the pre-Socratic Greek philosopher
Heraclitus. I really agree to the statement that Heraclitus proposed. Although our mind
is limited in knowledge our seek for truth are igniting just like the observation made by
Leonardo Pisano also known as Fibonacci as he study the reproduction pattern of a
bunny rabbit giving birth to what we call it today as Fibonacci Series. It is truly amazing
that discovery made by our observation may connect to different aspects and may use
in real life and modern day situation like building architectures of the Acropolis in
Athens, Greece and Pyramid in Egypt, After watching the videos our professor asks us
to watch for. I was really amazed, shocked, and realized that I have just a little
knowledge about thing in our surroundings. I didn’t expect that even smallest thing that
we see every day from our surroundings can be explain by Mathematics. Starting from
the patterns of how thing emerge like flower, tree, special structure in animal like skin of
snake, horn of goat, and spiraling growth of chambered nautilus, even human physique
structure starting from bones of our hand, the neuron structure of our brain and
will mark in my nape and my mind that Mathematics is not just about calculation,
application, inspiration and not just solving for X, but is also figuring out why things are.
