An End to an Unnecessary Evil
Rampant consumerism in the United States today has fueled sweatshops, thus creating
“the race to the bottom”, a race where companies look for countries with inadequate labor laws
and wages and set up sweatshop factories there. These companies are taking advantage of the
citizens in these underdeveloped countries and making huge profits. These companies also
search for weak governments in which labor laws are not enforced, thus these companies take
even more steps to increase their profit margin such as paying below minimum wage.
