Minimum Wage
The working class ought to be rewarded for their hard work with higher wages and not live in
poverty. After the State of the Union address President Obama has been campaigning to raise the
minimum wage starting with the lowest level of employees from 7.25 to 10.10. Barack Obama is the
President of the United States the Time to give American a Raise”: Baltimore Sun contributed to this
story. Obama outlined the need to raise the minimum wage. I believe that raising the minimum wage
would only hurt the consumers. Employers would hire fewer people or maybe even reduce work hours,
longer wait at the checkout counter at places like the grocery store, restaurants, and convenient stores,
and higher prices for the consumers.
President Obama gave three reasons why the minimum wage should be raised. First it’s good for
business, good for workers, and economy. So instead of voting for the equivalent of yet another pay cut
