Dear Veterans of Honor Flight,
I would like to personally thank you for your service to our great country the United States
of America. All of you fought a war that I could only read about in the text books when I
was in high school and long before my existence. So thank you for protecting our country
and all that you have do and still continue to do every day.
I am so sorry for that things that you as veterans had to endure and see at such young ages,
and the stress and turmoil that you still continue to endure as you live each day. You are
not given enough credit for gratefulness for how you gave your lives to this country, which
is truly ashamed. I cannot image or envision what your eyes have seen, or the fear that
must have been in your hearts. As a veteran myself, I can and do comprehend the strength,
know how, and the roar of a lion that you had to have to go running into the wake of
danger without a question. For this unselfish bravery I give my heartfelt thanks to you all.
So go and see the site and thank all of our fallen comrades for all they have done, then pat
one another on the back and say thank you for all that you have done for me, each other,
and the United States of America.
From my understanding as the story goes if it wasn’t for you veterans, I would be speaking
German or some other language, so truly THANK YOU, learning Latin was hard enough!
Sincerely thank you,
Cheryl Wharton, disabled veteran, Persian Gulf, US Army
