Midterm Exam-Part 2 March 21, 2018
Instructions: Get the Data for all the problems in the Excel workbook called “MGT226 Midterm-Part 2.” Type your
name in cell L2 on the first worksheet. As soon as you do this, save the workbook onto the flash drive, calling it
your name (Last name, comma, First name). Thus, if I were saving the test, I would save it as Yurkiewicz, Jack.
Answer all the questions in this Excel workbook. Each question requires you to give an answer. To get credit
for your answer, you must show some statistical analysis that justifies your answer—remember, this is a
course in statistics! Also, don’t forget to write your answer in the specified regions.
You are working on the only with the exam. It is a closed–note exam, which means you cannot look at your
homework problems, notes, internet, email, etc. Each question will be answered on a specified worksheet; the
questions tell you exactly where. All the worksheets will be combined into the ONE workbook. You will save this
workbook onto the flash drive, and you will then hand the flash drive to me when the test is over. Remember to
save your work OFTEN, like every five minutes!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WHAT TO PUT INTO THE TEST: Answer all the questions in the workbooks Problem 2
Solutions and Problem 3 Solutions.” Answer the questions in the blue spaces, and paste (I recommend you Paste–
Special just the Values) the relevant calculations to the right of or below your answers. For example, suppose you
made a pivot table or got some StatTools output to answer a particular question. Leave that pivot table or
StatTools output in the worksheet that Excel makes, but copy, then paste-special the values of that pivot table or
StatTools output into the Problem Solutions sheet. This way I can see your answer and explanation, as well as the
relevant calculations to back up your
answer, side by side. Leave the original
calculations in their own worksheets.
