Healthcare is defined as the organized provision of medical care to individuals or a community.
The fundamental purpose of health care is to enhance quality of life by enhancing health. The
World Health Organization states that “The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of
health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race,
religion, political belief, economic or social condition” which helps to show how important it is
to some people. The health-care sector is in many ways the most consequential part of the United
States economy. It is a fundamental and essential part of people’s lives, supporting their health
and well-being. Furthermore, it also matters because of its economic size the implications that
come with its overall budget. Because of this, well-functioning healthcare is essential for a well-
functioning economy. Unfortunately, there are substantial problems with our country’s health
care. The United States spends a very high amount on health care and that number continues to
rise. Interestingly, our country spends a lot more than most other countries without it even
resulting in better health outcomes. There have been many studies on the healthcare systems of
various governments or countries across the world. In the studies,
healthcare in the United States is ranked last in almost every category, leading it to be seen as the
worst healthcare system among the most developed countries. This result is due to the
continuously climbing healthcare costs, the declining quality of care, and a growing number of
uninsured Americans. All of these issues could be playing a role in the US’s low ranking of
