1. Tony needs to have a meeting with the team and explain to them the reason behind why
Tracy quit and the reason why he is bringing her back. By informing the team that Tracy
only quit because she did not have the courage to ask for help when the volume of the big
store overwhelmed her, Tony can help remind team members that they are a group of
individuals who bring diverse skills to the group. Tony can try hosting a rotating
“skillshare” where a team member presents an untapped skill to the entire group that is
outside of their typical role. This will encourage people to work on something that they are
excited about as well as help out people like Tracy who can feel overwhelmed to the point
of quitting. Tony also needs to give the team a reason to believe that he is making a good
decision to bring Tracy back. When communicating the new positions of the company,
Tony needs to align his decisions with the overall mission of the company. By getting team
members to understand and share in the company vision, they will see that Tony cares for
his employees, and is willing to bring them back into the company even when they are
feeling discouraged if he knows that they have the future potential to succeed.
