Animal Science production Essay
Animal production is the “agriculture rela%ng to the care and breeding of domes%c
animals such as ca)le, hogs, sheep, and horses” (USDA). The produc%on livestock is slowly
diminishing, as the demand of the livestock byproducts are increasing tremendously each and
every day. Go over obstacles that the industry faces (add 1 or 2 more sentences here). I must be
aware of the importance of the production of livestock in modern day society in order to start
my own successful breeding opera%on.
The production of livestock is very important for people and society, from producing
animals for byproducts, like leathers and meats, to crea%ng jobs for people. Animal produc%on
creates so many jobs all around the world, the produc%on industry contributes “to the
livelihoods and food security of almost a billion people worldwide” (USDA) Without these jobs
that the agricultural livestock production field provides, not only would more people be jobless
and in poverty, but also there would be a great increase in a need for food. Skills in the industry
changed. The production of livestock has evolved so much with “advances in animal breeding,
genetic, and genomics are facilita%ng a more e7cient industry. For example, the number of
ca)le has decreased over the past decade, yet the total production of beef and milk has

increased” (USDA). Many people do not realize that the food that is on their tables come from a
variety of agriculture jobs such as animal production. Yet, as today’s society is becoming more
and more industrialized, the livestock market is deple%ng and su=ering as the demand
continue to rise. (add 1 more sentence). The “production and processing of beef supports over
1.4 million full-%me- equivalent jobs in the US as well” (economic impact). With this field of
work not only providing over a million jobs in the US alone, but also providing people around
the world with food, animal produc%on remains as one of the most important jobs even though
most people do not realize it. (add 1 more sentence).
To choose which animal to produce, I looked at how beef ca)le is the most demanded,
