Memory is part of remembering and it is where the events, experiences and other
activities in life are stored. These events will either be moments that help us learn in life or, they
may be events that can remain with us throughout our lives. This is how students learn and
retain information is by memory more specifically having information in the long-term memory.
However, there are other avenues of long-term memories such as episodic memory. In this
paper, one will read and episodic memory as well as discuss how long-term memory contributes
to how people learn (Slavin, 2017)
When I was eight years old, my mother went on a cruise for the entire summer without
me. I had to stay with my sister, who I did love, but I did not want to stay with on the count that
she had six kids of her own. During that time, my father was in the hospital and we would see
him frequently. Then, one day we just stopped going to visit him. I was confused and even
voiced my concern on why I did not get to see my father during the summer time. I was told by
