Subject: Potential Private Island Purchasing Decision
The island we are considering purchasing is the Pristine Powell Cay which is located in the
Caribbean’s just three miles northeast Cooper’s Town. Pristine Powell Cay consists of 294
acres of raw beautiful land. A small portion of the land is in the process of being made into
a nature preserve. The location and orientation of the island serves as protection from the
Atlantic Ocean while a portion of the island faces the Sea of Abaco which would be a
perfect spot for the resort. Coming in at less than half of our budget, the island is only
$9,400,000.
Deciding on Pristine Powell Cay was a thorough process which included finding the
perfect island that met our specific criteria. The requirements which Powell Cay meets are
as follows:
•Easily accessible from local infrastructure
•Access to nearby labor force
•Adequate acreage: the island consists of 294 acres which is more than enough for
the resort but also creates the opportunity to make extensions if need be
•Quality of land: Powell Cay features white sandy beaches and mostly flat land
eliminating the need to level the terrain
•The specific location within the Sea of Abaco provides protection from the Atlantic
