Subject: Your Reaction to a New Floating Holiday Plan
Dear all,
Your attitude to the new floating holiday plan below will influence the determination to
carry out it or not.
In the past, you voted for the day of floating holiday. All of you have had the same day off
since then. Now, management, after considerable thought, recommend a new plan for the
floating holiday. The general information of the new plan is as followed:
•Plan Content. Each individual can choose a day that he or she want as the floating
holiday.
•Plan Restriction. Selections would have to be subject to the staffing needs
within individual departments.
•Example: If everyone wanted the same day, we would allow the employee with the
most seniority to have the day off.
Before instituting the new plan, we would appreciate to know your thinking. Is it better to
continue our current companywide uniform floating holiday? Or should we try an
individual floating holiday?
Please submit your responses as soon as possible before March 19 so that we can make a
better decision.
