Body Scan
1) Type of meditation
2) Not simply to relax, it’s to get a feel of how your individual body parts feel
the way they are. (Without you trying to change them).
3) A way to get in touch with the body, let go of feelings of getting things
done, and getting rid of pent up emotions.
4) Trains attention: Alternates between a wide and narrow focus of attention
(focusing on your little toe all the way to focusing on the entire body)
Ways to Practice
1) Lay down (floor, matt or bed)
2) Take a few deep breaths
3) Get a sense of your body and how it’s feeling (any tension or how you
are emotionally feeling ex: mad, neutral, happy)
4) Focus your attention on the top of your head then work your way down
your body or vice versa.
