“Media Analysis/ Diversity Assignment”
As the war in Iraq and Afghanistan continue news reporters have to find
somehow to report what is going on. But when reporting about war you have to
have a line where you stop. This line stops when you show footage or pictures of
dead or wounded American soldiers. These soldiers are fighting to keep you and
I safe. These soldiers have families back at home whom everyday worry about
whether they will come home or not. These soldiers are not giving you consent
so there should be no reason for you to show images or them in the media.
Media companies have said that we could see a death on live television how the
way reporting war has changed. Another news company is saying we don’t
report enough about the death in the war considering it is reaching an
insurmountable number and they are being forgotten about. Families do not
forget about when their sons or husbands die. These soldiers are not being
forgotten they are going to be remembered for their service and courage. Just
think about if you were killed in battle. Would you want your family members to
find out that you died first through the media? These soldiers don’t even know
