Sub: Statement of motivation for Masters in International Management
Dear Sir,
“Management is both an art as well as a science" is what Principles of Management, a
subject in my final semester at engineering has taught me. Many consider the two fields as
two ends of a coin. However, it is the application of management that one finds from day
to day chores to corporate decision making that has highlighted the necessity for, not good
but, great management skills.
As a person who considered a degree in management as just another money minting
concept, I have come a long way in observing and understanding the importance and need
for good management on any level. In my experience both on an academic level as well as
on a professional level, I have come across brilliant management as well as some poor
decisions. I have seen my project at work go from almost bust to a customer satisfaction of
‘Excellent’. I have noticed the changes in style of management and measures taken to
improve the system during my twenty eight months tenure at Atos (formerly Atos Origin).
This along with the many developments in the global management scenario has attracted
me to this field.
My journey to this point where I stand to apply for the Masters in International
Management at the Bocconi University has been adventurous. From many interests that I
have pursued, ranging from literature to engineering, there is nothing that has compelled
me to this extent as the Masters in International Management has.
