The Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the University of Brescia, Italy
performed the study of maternal psychological state and infant’s temperament at three months.
The objective of this study was to investigate the possible relationship between the psychological
state of the mother during pregnancy and how it affected the baby’s temperament postpartum.
This study aimed to evaluate the predictability of infant temperament based on the maternal
intrapersonal and interpersonal factors. The participants of this study were women of Italian
descent between the ages of 18 and 40. These women were between 28 and 36 weeks with low
risks pregnancies. 78.5% of these women were married, 96.3% were employed, and 72.9%
