Mash-Up
“You just want attention, you don’t want my heart.” (Attention). “Baby, I’m
Sorry (I’m not Sorry).” (Sorry Not Sorry) What do these songs mean? The song
“Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato and “Attention” by Charlie Puth are combined in
the mash-up. Both songs are very similar with the lyric meaning; each song has the
same meaning about past relationships and their past lovers wanting them back.
Through the mash-up it reveals creation of a new song with the use of wordplay,
how the emotions from both videos become one with the mash-up, and the different
types of music styles.
The first couple of lyrics are sung from Sam Tsui and the lyrics are from the
song “Attention”:
“You’ve been running round, running round, running round, throwing that
dirt all on my name. Cause you knew that I, knew that I, knew that I would
call you up.” (Attention)
The original version of this song with these lyrics have the meaning that this man’s
ex-girlfriend is doing everything in her power to get his attention even if that means
talking badly about him or going to every party she can to find him. She does this to
try to make him jealous. Then the second song “Sorry Not Sorry” comes into play
and is sung by Alyson Stoner and the lyrics she sung were:

The meaning of these lyrics are what is basically said, a girl does not care about her
ex and she has moved on and is now feeling better than ever. Then the two singers
Sam Tsui and Alyson Stoner sing the same lyrics from the song “Attention” this is
where the meaning of the songs starts to change from their original version. The
