Cinema today dramatizes cultural expectations for young men to go to
college with a certain level of sexual experience. The pressures on high school
seniors to have sex in order to be college ready are often humorously portrayed as
we see in the American Pie series. Similarly, Superbad accurately models Michel
Foucault’s viewpoint that authority dictates behaviors. In his essay “Panopticism.”
