Self-Disclosure Instance #1
On reality television, everything is dramatic. People get in fights that are unnecessary, say words they
regret, and do extremely inappropriate actions. You constantly see fights in bars, restaurants, or clubs
and it shows them in a terrible light. Viewers see this, imitate their beliefs and behaviors, then to make
it worse, log on to Facebook and reveal information that normally would not.
Self-Disclosure Instance #2
Talk shows like Jerry Springer and Maury (even though it is highly entertaining) are great examples of
too much self-disclosure. Men and women having sex with different people, not knowing who the father
or mother is, then yelling and screaming on the show. Then, the kids see it and think that it is ok to do
inappropriate actions like those on the show. One time, I saw on the Jerry Springer show two midgets
dancing and stripping on a pole, just a bunch of nonsense.
