Pharmaceutical Industry is one of the leading export earning sectors in Bangladesh. The major
portion of Bangladesh's local drugs & medicines is produced by local pharmaceutical industries.
In this research, we will evaluate the strategies & techniques used by the pharmaceuticals
companies, how they face new challenges & avail new opportunities, how they are coping up with
the changing demand and how they are attracting & capturing their customers. Pharmaceuticals
companies in Bangladesh are both local & international players. So, they apply various strategies
& techniques to survive and retain the market in a competitive market.
To win and retain their share with rivals, pharmaceutical firms often follow distinct marketing
tactics. However the marketing of pharmaceutical companies varies from other companies as the
target buyers of pharmaceutical drugs are not the patients, rather the doctors who make the
medicines decision on behalf of the patients. For this purpose, marketing campaigns of
pharmaceuticals firms are designed specifically for doctors, not patients. 95 percent of local
pharmaceutical firms meet the local demand for medicines and drugs in our country.
