I personally think that it depends on how big the charitable organizations are, how much the
organizations are making, and how many people they are actually helping. So my question would
be what percentage of the money is going towards paying their top workers and what percentage
of the money is actually being used to help benefit the people.
They should make less, because I believe that the speakers and workers are just trying to sell
their influence. Meaning that they just want money and aren’t putting enough money towards the
people that are actually needing to be helped.
2). Will the amount of the CEO’s salary impact your potential giving to the non-profit?
Yes, if I were to donate money to a charity, I would most definitely do some research on how
much money is going to the CEO and the workers and how much of my money is actually going
to go into helping people. If more of my money is going to the actual charity to help people
(75%) and 25% is going towards the CEO, then I would be okay with donating my money, but if
75% of my money is going towards the CEO and 25% is going to the people, then it would
impact my decision and I would not donate. For example, many local Houston churches and
local organizations said, “please don’t donate money to the Red Cross! Houston will never see
it.” This kind of highlights the fact that many people do not trust the Red Cross organization
because they believe that the majority of the money does not to go to where it was originally
