• Identify the company you selected and evaluate its present marketing strategy.
Provide evidence to support your evaluation.
After searching several case studies, I decided to choose the Cadbury because it’s
very interesting the way that the company makes the focus on marketing. Cadbury
is a company dedicated to the manufacture of sweets and chocolates position
worldwide. Cadbury marketing is more focused on comedy in reactions you may
have or experience while you consume their products. One of the funniest and most
popular is that of a gorilla playing drums after tasting one of the chocolates.
• Determine what, if anything, the marketing manager should do to change the current
strategy. Provide reasons for the suggestions you would make to the marketing
manager.
I really do not think that the campaign of Cadbury needs to be change, they have
one of the most successful marketing’s right now. According to Link Human
(2015), The company managed to change their strategy of Television to a modern
way using social networks like Twitter and Facebook, they promote their products
on them, but they continue using humor with creativity related to the products. A lot
of companies still haven’t realized that the Television is not anymore the most
important platform to connect to most of the costumers like the Internet.
After watching the Kevin Roberts conference on WOBI about the three questions
you have to ask yourself so you decide to go forward on some marketing idea, I
found out that one of the example he use is the gorilla commercial from Cadbury.
He explains the nowadays you just have to ask yourself if you want to see it again,
do you want to share it or if you want to improve it. You don’t need to expend a lot
of money investigating what type of marketing could work to be successful, just ask
yourself those three questions and make a decision towards that.
