English Comp II Mark David Chapman Analysis
I do not think that Mark Chapman is Holden Caulfield. The two of them have
many similarities, but are also different. I think that they had similar childhoods and
ways of thinking. I also think that Chapman was much more irrational than Holden.
Growing up Chapman and Holden were both lonely kids trying to live up to their
parent’s expectations, but never succeeded. They both had difficulties in school,
including low grades and a tendency to skip classes. Holden also speaks several times
about his experience with perverts, and we learn that Chapman had issues with his
mother, such as inappropriate things she would say to him, and waking up to her
