The legalization of marijuana use has been a hot issue in the U.S.A and other countries
today. It had a fair share of the people’s insights whether marijuana use should really be
prohibited. But looking closely using marijuana had a fair number of positive effects just
the same as its negative effects.
The question that comes to everybody’s mind is, why legalize Marijuana in the first place?
Well there are many reasons why some states are fighting to legalize Marijuana, some say
it is for medical purpose but are people really going to use it for medical purpose? I believe
people will soon ask their doctors for prescription of Marijuana, and then they will just use
it for pressure but not medical use. “As medical marijuana gets rerouted for street use (as
is already happening in Colorado and other states), the number of clients referred for
treatment will grow. Treatment facilities are already stretched to the economic and
administrative breaking point. Once again, taxpayers will end up paying the piper lest the
streets be filled with even more substance dependent people”. (Rev. Robert M. Foote)
Here are some fact about medical Marijuana, according to Rev. Robert M. Foote, Medical
marijuana is already legal everywhere! Known as “Marinol,” it is more effective than
marijuana in treating most chemotherapy side effects. Unlike the current end-around with
“medical marijuana,” Marinol did go through the regular Food and Drug Administration
approval protocols. Moreover, few people realize that if medical marijuana were approved
(by the legislators and not the FDA), no prescription would be written. Instead, a
“recommendation for treatment” would be made available. Insurance companies would not
pay for it, so the sale would be a cash sale where there is cash-flow, there are criminal
undercurrents which is exactly what is happening in California and Colorado. People who
were originally recommended to have the pot are reselling it to others, creating new and
chronic law enforcement headaches.
The decision of legalizing Marijuana doesn’t just happen overnight, it involves the citizens
of that particular state, or country. Take for example states like Colorado and Washington;
they had it on their 2012 November ballot and the citizens voted for pass and they became
the first two states to legalize” recreational Marijuana”. Meaning anyone of legal age can
