Managing the Tantrum Storm
During the toddler stages alike the ‘terrible twos’ is although a cute period in time for children,
in addition is a stressful time for the parents. Teeth are starting to come in causing a headache for the
child and they are adapting to being more aware of their surroundings at this stage which is new and a
bit frustrating for these kiddos. The style of parenting that is utilized on a child is highly important in that
it impacts them for the rest of their lives. The different types of parenting styles are authoritative,
authoritarian, indulgent, and neglectful. The varying styles all involve dimensions of acceptance and
responsiveness as well as demand and control on the other hand. There is no ‘best’ way to raise a child,
given diverse styles do work well. However in terms of punishment, there have been debated topics
stemming from decades prior as to the severity and acceptance of the punishment. In an article from
The New York Times dated October 30, 2017 discusses the topic of toddler tantrums and how parents
