that cannot be ignored. Therefore, in this assignment, I am going to introduce one company
that obeys all the principles of management, and it is successfully well known by others
people in this world.
The introduction of Walmart, Inc.
Walmart is the America retail market chain that is one of the biggest stores in the country and
among the world largest company. Headquarters of the organization are in Arkansas,
Bentonville. It was established in 1962 by Sam Walton in Rogers, Arkansas, Wal-Mart based
its early growth on rural regions, avoiding direct rivalry from supermarket giants such as
Sears and Kmart. Wal-Mart had been one of the biggest food producers in the US within a
decade since launching the Supercenter mix of store and merchandise. In 1990, Wal-Mart
became the largest retailer in the United States with focus on customer service, cost control
and flexibility in distribution networks. In the years after Walton’s death, the company was
less fiscally frugal, quickly accumulating corporate debt in order to finance such new
strategies as a group of additional Wal-Mart Supercenters. In 2018 Walmart was called after
the company. Walmart was criticized for contributing to the metropolitan growth by
pressuring small retailers, many of whom did not cope with the company’s size
market.(Editors, 2019)
1. Human Resources Practices in Walmart
Human resources management is the design and application of formal systems in an
organization to ensure the effective and efficient use of human talent to accomplish
organizational goals. Human resource management at Walmart use methods at recruiting for
different jobs both internally and externally. The internal methods are used to fill vacant or
current vacancies at Walmart from former workers. External recruiting methods gain from
access to the job sector in order to fulfill the company’s goals for human resources
management. That approach aims to make Walmart more accessible to fulfill the
HR specifications.
The related recruiting approaches are internally and externally on Walmart’s employment
sources. The organization approaches prospective employees specifically through external
procedures. For examples, Walmart hires with campuses sometimes. The administration of
the company’s human resources approaches students who may be involved in applying for
work. The advantage of this approach is, instead of searching for candidates that Walmart
accelerates the recruiting cycle. The approach therefore allows it possible for the organization
to use a variety of parameters to pick candidates.
Walmart’s human resources policy goal is to attract a wider population through the usage of
indirect methods of recruiting. These strategies involve advertising on the website of the
organization and other newspapers. The majority of Walmart’s human resources are
generated through indirect recruiting methods. These advertisements have a worldwide reach,
offering wide assistance to the HR needs of the company. Indirect methods can also be
economical. Walmart minimizes human resources management risks by using the company
platform for work advertisements.
