Management
Assignment 2
The commonality I saw between Fayol’s principles of management from 1911 and those
of Tom Peters in the 1990s was how managers should praise and treat their employees with
kindness. Mainly, the idea of Fayol’s principles of management was the functionality of the
organization and fairness beyond all employees, managers, and bosses. On the other hand, Tom
Peters principles of managements was about the relationship and influence with customer and
employees with the organization.
Being a good and kind manager and/or leader definitely accounts for this. Good managers
will always praise their employees because it builds a better relationship and makes the
employees feel more comfortable at the organization. As a result of this, employees will perform
better on the job knowing that the manager and/or leader has their back, understands who they
are, and/or understands what they’re going through if there are any conflicts that may have
happened to the employee.
