Introduction
Motivation is really important to achieve any organizational success. Without motivating the
subordinates, a manager cannot get the best output from them. A manager might have the proper
resources to accomplish the organizational goals but without utilizing the resources properly he
will not be succeeded. Motivating the subordinates is the right way of proper utilization of
resources. As motivating the subordinates is important, the proper way to motivate the employees
is even more important for any managerial role. If a manager fails to motivate the subordinates
following the right motivational theory, then he’ll not be able to ensure the best outcome.
Describing the Concepts with Examples
There are two management theory regarding motivation theory X and theory Y. Theory X
suggests that employees have little interest on the job, they are highly demotivated, only doing the
job for the sake of salary, no excitement for personal growth, no desire to follow the leader’s
instructions properly and whenever they are given any freedom they simply don’t work. In this
context, the manager needs to strictly monitor the subordinates’ behavior. A manager has all kind
