Summary of the Company
Jamal Jamaliah Foods Sdn Bhd was established in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) 30 years ago
which was set up by Mr Jamal. They had performed their business well in the first 20 years and
their company was started as a sole trader in year 1984. In year 1989, their business was grow
rapidly and became a private limited company which the business will run by the owner and
the largest shareholders. Their first shop is opened at Jalan Alor. . In year 2000, Mr Jamal began
to turn his business into a fusion style of Malay cuisine due to Mr Jamal realize his company
was gained huge popularity on Muslims. Nowadays, the company was run by Mr Jamal’s 2
sons, Mr Zamal and Mr Zamasa. Their business today was expand to over 200 branches in
Malaysia however the revenue of their business is started to decline since 2017.
This company is running a bureaucratic system towards their staff and most of the decision and
reports including customers feedback only can approved by 2 of top management which will
cause an effect of time consuming in making decision. Besides, it will also arise conflict among
the management during making decisions and consumers might need time to wait for their
feedback. Consumers might feel disrespect then they will not willing to spend their money to
Jamal Jamaliah Foods Sdn Bhd. The structure of the company is extremely long where it will
wasting time to delivery reports, news and any informations to the decision maker. This will
cause delays in transferring informations, company might lose the opportunity to invest in
unforeseen events, and the workloads of the staff will be extremely low because they will only
do their tasks when the top management assign to them. (Regoli, 2015)
In addition, their IT system is outdated as their latest accounting system was updated in 1999
and there is no further updates was made due to the cost saving measures. Therefore, the
ordering and sales process is shows down which cause the Finance department have to work
up till an additional 10 hours to ensure all sales from each outlet are correctly loaded and match
with the HQ servers.
Moreover, Jamal Jamaliah Foods Sdn Bhd was facing full of tiger competitors roaming even
the market are very saturated. Regarding the news reports, many Halal certifications have been
pulled back by the Malaysian government where the certifications have been proven to be fake
and the company are no longer fulfill the requirements for a Halal certified foods and beverage
