It can be seen that planning is a waste of time because no one can predict the future. But planning
doesn’t need to be precise. Roughly planning can be a way for managers to prepare a variety of
scenarios.
Planning involves defining the organization’s objectives or goals, establishing an overall strategy
for achieving goals, and developing a comprehensive hierarchy of plans to integrate and coordinate
activities. It consists of what is to be done and how it’s to be done.
