Most Compelling Character: Billy Beale
The novel Maisie Dobbs is written by Jacqueline Winspear. It is set after World
War I, but rewinds to the past during the war and speaks a little of Maisie’s experience
as well as a few others characters experiences. This novel contains many characters
that have big parts and these characters have great characteristics, but I believe Billy
Beale is the most compelling character in the novel. Billy should be considered the most
compelling for more than one reason. He is strong, brave, and most of all, a caring friend
