1915 was the founding year for Lundbeck, when Hans Lundbeck started a
trading company and substantially evolved into a global Central Nervous System (CNS)
pharmaceutical company. Headquartering in Copenhagen, Denmark, with global
presence, Lundbeck held 2% of CNS’ total market sales, and was engaged in
manufacturing, research and development, and selling drugs for treating several
neurological disorders like depression, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease,
Schizophrenia and Insomnia; with next–generation drugs, ameliorating sufferers’ quality
of life. Powerful knowledge and innovation allow the company to generate superior
margins, which lead to the introduction of Lundbeck’s blockbuster drug: Lexapro – an
antidepressant replacing own forerunner Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors
(SSRI), Cipram, comprising 12.9 percent of Global CNS market (Exhibit 2); and another,
