An organization that is actively international differs from one that is entirely domestic becuase
one of the biggest things that comes to mind would be international laws versus domestic laws.
One may be able to get tax cuts whereas the other side may not. Age and academics also have
a lot to do with it as well, for example over in the phillipines when you work in a call center you
have to mimic that person’s type of ascent in order to get the job. For example if they spoke with
a heavy ascent they would have to mimic it or if they speak like a new yorker they have to
match that. Whereas in the United States we do not have anything like that, more as long as
you can speak clearly and type you would qualify for the position. I feel that with an ethnocentric
approach a benefit would be when one country feels that there is a lack of individuals that can
pass to fill for senior management positions. A con would be it could limit the advancement of
senior management positions causing frustrations, lower performance and lower employee
retention rate.
