THE HUMAN PERSON IN THEIR ENVIRONMENT
ACTIVITY 1 (PPT11/12-Ii4.1, PPT11/12-Ii4.2)
The whole class will be instructed to interview a person who is 45-60 year old. Be guided by the
following questions:
1. What are the things that you remember in your environment when you were my
age?
My grandparents often recall how difficult their lives when they were young,
claiming that my generation has much easier lives than they had. Since my
grandparents were farmers, they had to work in the rice field all day long even
without resting on weekends so that they can have rice and other food to eat. Their
environment is the primary source of raw resources used to make all types of food
they wanted. Fruits and vegetables were very abundant in their environment that
time. Their lives when they were my age were very different than my life now. Life
today is much more comfortable and easier than it was in my grandparents’ time.
2. What are the things that you like doing when you were young?
During my grandparents’ time, life was simple. They like living a simple life. All
the work was done without any modern tool, so they had to do their laundry by hand
and walked from one place to another by feet. They could at best listen to the radio
or perhaps watch a black-and-white movie for enjoyment.
3. What are the positive and negative changes in the environment?
Technology is the most significant change that happened in our environment.
It has its positive effects as well as negative effects on our lives. Technological
advancements made modern-day life much more comfortable and easier than in the
past. This positive change or effect in the environment improved our quality of life.
Technology has definitely improved our lives. It makes our lives even better in the
future. But there can be a negative side resulting from inappropriate or overuse of
we are exposed plays a substantial role in shaping our personalities.
