Logic Connectives
Logic Statements
Statement is a sentence that could be true or false, but it could not be both true
and false. That is why one must use his or her logic to know whether the statement is
true or not. That is probably the preason why it is called Logic Statements.
One way to determine whether the statement is true or false is by using a truth
table. But we must first determine the logical connectives before jumping into it.
Logical connectives referred to words and symbols that were used to form a
compound sentence from two simple sentence. Simple sentence conveys only one
idea. If we connect the two simple sentence it could be form two ideas which we call
compound sentence. For example, suppose that my first simple statement is “I am

then my compound sentence will be “I am freshman college student and I am
hardworking”. In logical connectives the letter p and q are used to denote statements.
The connective not is denoted by ~ and it is a negation type of statement. A
negation is used for contradicting a statement. For example, suppose p means I am
