Little Game
A newlywed couple has just found out that they’re going to start a family soon – they’re
going to parent twins, a boy and a girl. Preparations must be made in the next few months.
Frantically, the couple decides to paint the back upstairs bedroom to accommodate their new
guests. A ‘gender neutral’ color seems safest, and together they decide on white; on each side
of the room, they place a wooden crib. One is lined in pastel pink sheets and cuddly pink bunnies
and dolls, along with paintings of flowers and rainbows all across the wall. On the opposing side,
blue sheets are accompanied by a fuzzy blue puppy and a car-shaped pillow, with sports balls and
trucks on the wall. The parents-to-be contemplate whether they should keep everything gender–
neutral, but how else would they tell the cute babies apart? Besides, they’re too small
