Literature Review
In reviewing literature to prepare for this submission a number of publications were
analyzed with a view to determine the best approach to address the issues affecting trade
facilitation in Trinidad and Tobago. Many of the international organizations’ annual trade
and financial reports carried statistics that ranked and compared this country against
performance of other economies. As such these publications form the major source of
information in developing the policy for greater efficiency in achieving the trade goals of
Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the Ministry of Trade, the objective of trade policy in Trinidad and Tobago is
