EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This record provides a close analysis of the heuristic evaluation procedure wont to assess
Microsoft’s LinkedIn internet software system. The analysis itself was performed using the
heuristic assessment usability approach, based on heuristics provided by Jakob Nielsen. This
system includes evaluators evaluating a pre-described set of usability standards to Associate in
Nursing utility or web site while trying to complete a tool task.
For this project, 10 heuristics had been used, that focus on the center functionalities of LinkedIn:
registering, posting, profile and searching desired organizations or folks. The goal of this
assessment was to spot elementary usability flaws within the LinkedIn interface via the
appliance of those 10 heuristics:
1. Use Aesthetic and Minimalist Design
2. Effective Menu/Command Structure
3. Use Simple and Natural Language
4. Minimize User’s Memory Load
5. Be Consistent
6. Provide Feedback
7. Provide Clearly Marked Exits
8. Deal with Errors in a Positive Manner
9. Provide Help
10. help and documentation
The usability issues determined from this analysis are clustered into eleven regions and are
hierarchic in step with their severity and ease with that the matter is resolved. The 5 most intense
and best to repair troubles are:
1. Bad Signup Approach.
2. Feed Access with a fake registration.
3. Withdraw the request to connect.
4. Inefficient color scheme.
5. Language selector is hidden
6. Bad user tutorials approach.
7. API Crashes.
8. Incorrect Errors.
INTRODUCTION
This file describes the heuristic evaluation technique and findings from Microsoft’s LinkedIn
network application. It starts with accurate statistics describing the website and its target
population, and then maintains a top-level view of the heuristic evaluation method in general, the
specific wishes of this project, and the heuristics used in our app walkthrough. The following is a
summary of the main problems identified by heuristic evaluation and a further unique
exploration of the findings related to these specific problems prioritized according to their
severity and impact on the consumer experience. The registry concludes with a list of resources
associated with the heuristic evaluation and an exact list of the actual heuristics used within the
evaluation.
