Always Super Bowl 2015 Commercial: Like a Girl
There were many commercials I really liked from this year’s Super Bowl. However, the
one that I absolutely love, adore, and was quite awed by was Always’ Like a Girl
commercial. I had actually seen this commercial before, and all I could say when it was
over was “WOW”. The one shown during the Super Bowl was actually shorter than the
one I had previously seen, but the message was still the same. As a mother of two young
daughters, I know the importance of being confident, loving who you are, and being
comfortable in your own skin. Being a girl is not supposed to be an insult or a
condemnation. No one should look down at a female because she is “a girl”.
It might seem that the commercial’s main target is young, pubescent girls. However, I
believe everyone is a target; like the little boy who “forgot” his sister was, indeed a girls
too. This was to alter the perception of anyone, male or female, young or old and anyone
in between, who believes that being a girl is synonymous to being weak. This is very
important in those years when young girls are in puberty, when hormones can alter their
perceptions and they are very impressionable. It is during this time that they need the best
impressions to help mold them into amazing young women.
Like I stated above, I have two young daughters; one of which will be entering puberty
