Andrew Browning Fundamentals of Speech Speech Outline
General Purpose: To Persuade.
Specific Purpose: At the end of this speech, my audience should be persuaded that the mentioned
solutions will help reduce the amount of pollution in the World’s Oceans.
Central Idea: Solutions that will help reduce pollution in the World’s oceans.
Introduction
A. Some of us may already know that majority of the world’s surface is covered by
oceans.
B. According to WorldAtlas, the approximate coverage is 71% which includes 5
oceans, the Artic, Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Southern oceans.
C. In my last speech I shared with you some of the causes of ocean pollution. Today
I will be sharing with you, some solutions that can reduce these causes.
D. The three main points I will be focusing on are implementing more strict waste
management laws, promoting more ocean cleanups and better inspections on
ships carrying oils from country to country.
E. I have done research on this topic, gaining credible information from
environmental websites such as the epa.gov website.
Transition Statement: I will begin by explaining what waste laws are being implemented by the
government today.
