My Corner is a Tiny Place
My corner of the world is a tiny place consisting of corn, cows, and close-minded people.
In my opinion, there are a lot of things that, if changed, could make this tiny speck on the map a
better place. Some of these ideal improvements are far too complex for a young person of no
power, like myself, to accomplish; such as openings people’s mind to the world around them,
improving our educational system, or eliminating drug abuse. Instead, I help change my corner
of the world on a smaller, behind the scenes scale, but it can make a big difference to an
individual.
When people have lived one way for their entire life, it’s hard for them to accept
something new. At times it seems like they can’t, but from my own experience I know that is not
the case. I come from a farm community in southern illinois; my boyfriends town has a larger
population that my entire county. There are many people in my home town that have not left the
county in years, let alone the state or the country! Because of this, they miss out on amazing
