COMPARE & CONTRAST OF LIBRARY & INTERNET AS TWO MAJOR SOURCES
OF INFORMATION
Library have been major part of our lives long time ago. It is not just important place for
students, it become place where we can get new knowledge for all of human beings. Interesting
things about library is, it have already exist about 4600 years ago. Library is just not about the
place where you can find academic books, but you will also can find many type of material such
as magazines, newspaper, manuscript, thesis and others. But after 1980, the roles of Library as
the place where we can get knowledge about change when Tim-Berners Lee, a software engineer
discover Internet as we can see right now. But when Internet first discover, it is not useful as
source of information until Yahoo!, Google and Bing, the popular search engines starting to
dominate this world. We can get all of information in this world in just a few minutes.
Different from Internet, library take so much time to find information that can fulfil our need.
Using Google for example, you just type the topic that you want to discover, you will get
thousands of suggestions. But after about 35 years Internet are helping us to do our works and
studies, library still are one of the major sources that are not going anywhere soon and library
still evolve with help of technology nowadays. Students and professional are still need library as
the place to study, improve knowledge and major references to do assignment or to complete our
