The reason why I made the decision to join the sorority is because having a sense of
belonging and sisterhood is very important to me. It was very difficult for me to find a sense of
unity at the previous university I attended because I took most of my classes online, I wasn’t a
part of any clubs and I didn’t play any sports-. During my high school years I was very involved
in different clubs and I held a postilion as a President for Caribbean club that I help create at my
high school. The same fire and desire I had when I participated in the club I want to use that
energy to join your sorority. Finding like-minded individuals is very important to me as I am
getting older. In my day to day life I realize that I am loosing so many friends because we aren’t
on the same path of wanting success. I am a go getter, I always challenge myself to want to do
better and provide a life for my future family. Pledging has always been one of my desires but I
just never thought I would fit in based on horror stores I’ve heard when it comes to pledging. But
I learned to put that aside, did my research and made my decision to move forward.
Also another reason why I wanted to join the grad chapter because I know I can find
women I can look up to, I can be involved in my community and make a difference. We should
