Lego Case Study
Lego was one to the world top Children toy manufacturer that was founded in 1932 by a
Danish carpenter and almost found itself near extinction in 2004. In the early days of Lego their
foundations of success were firmly in place with the company looking towards the future. The
company expanded their line of products beyond bricks into other areas such as human figures.
This allowed children to create new adventures such as those set in medieval castles or outer
space using free play with the Lego product line (Robertson, 2013). This resulted in a boom in
business for Lego that allowed them to dramatically grow in size.
In the long run, this growth period and revenue saw a decline, where sales plummeted
and they were on the edge of extinction. This cause an awful impact into the company profits,
