v. FRANCISCO LOPEZ
FACTUAL BACKGROUD: Francisco Lopez hired Royston, Rayzor, Vickery, & Williams,
LLP to help him file for divorce on his wife who won the lottery. Before the divorce went
through, both parties (Lopez and the petitioners) signed a contract stating that if there was an
issue after the hearing they would settle through arbitration. Lopez later then, sued Royston,
Rayzor because he wasn’t satisfied with his winnings but was turned away since the only
evidence he had was the employment contract.
ISSUES: The contract that was signed by Lopez and his representatives did not specify what
type of disputes were being disclosed.
DECISIONS: The case was returned in which it got sent to lower powers for a decision in
which he lost.
